Wreck it Ralph out today, Who's gonna Wreck it?
Re: Wreck it Ralph out today, Who's gonna Wreck it?
I wasn't a big fan of the movie so I think I am going to pass until its a $5 pawn shop purchase. The best scene IMHO was with the bad guy support group, other than that it wasn't nearly as memorable as I was hoping....

I feel the same, it started well, but once it went to the candy racing it got all generic and lacking 'real' video game references, it just got boring.8bit wrote:I wasn't a big fan of the movie so I think I am going to pass until its a $5 pawn shop purchase. It was a good movie, it's just odd that they chose to focus so much on the candy racing game. It's not like it's such a typical scenario for a game that the movie had to pay homage to. It feels misplaced.

what do you mean "typical scenario"?jfrost wrote:It was a good movie, it's just odd that they chose to focus so much on the candy racing game. It's not like it's such a typical scenario for a game that the movie had to pay homage to. It feels misplaced.

Probably gonna pass on Tomb Raider until I hear some more stuff about it.
We really enjoyed 'Wreck it Ralph'. My kid stayed quiet through the whole thing (that alone makes the movie worth it). I think she recognized some of the characters, because she eventually grabbed her controller and pretended like she was playing.
Although it won't go in my 'Top Movies Evar' list, I thought it was cute and rather enjoyable. I agree that they could have done more with it, but I wasn't expecting much to begin with.

I'm kind of hoping Disney will make Wreck It Ralph into a TV series the way they used to do with some of their movies. The story potential is certainly there and, as pilots go, they've done worse (for example, Chicken Little would've been an excellent TV pilot if the planned series hadn't been cancelled, but it doesn't stand on its own so well as a movie). Failing that, they are planning to do at least one movie sequel where they might touch on console gaming and the internet, which would give the characters a convenient escape and explain away the plot hole of "what happens when the cabinet dies?".
I'm not a glitch, I just have pixlexia.

I bought it, watched last night before jumping back into Tomb Raider.
Enjoyed it, though it would have been nice to see more references/tributes to video games.
Very much enjoying Tomb Raider as well.

If you purchase it from Best Buy, you get a pretty sweet Carlos toy from the movie HOP. The tag may say "Phil" but I guarantee you it is Carlos.
And WRECK IT RALPH is great. Not perfect, but still great.
