Don't worry about the small stuff.

Like others have said, you can rebuild your collection.

You at least have good memories of your first games and beating them. No one can take that away.

It doesn't matter if you have games or not, you can always come back here and say hello.

At your age this may be a big deal to you, but later on this will be a trivial matter.

It will all be okay in the end.

Something like this would have been something super serious at his age. When i was caught on *insert hallucingenic here* by my mother she tried to sell all my video games. Of course i was a smart 15 year old so i wisely took them to my best friends house. It would have been a big thing then. I had already collected a significant number of now really expensive saturn games. Money troubles was the reason i had to sell them in my early 20's. My 1959 rambler needed a new engine. Also it was my only car. I learned to never rely on a 50 year old car for everyday transportation. Unless it is fully rebuilt.

Since you are only 15, in 5 or 6 years you will be able to start collecting again no problem. For now just hold onto a few choice games / systems that mean a lot to you. Keep it small and special.

And remember, no matter how bad whatever your situation is, its just a moment in your life. It will end, and as long as you learn from your mistakes, things will get better again.

Thank you all very much!

You are all right, in your own ways.

Yes, this is a huge deal for me now.

But, I'll get over it soon, and be back to collecting.

This will just be an "extended hiatus" for me!

I'm still young, so I have quite a while to rebuild my collection!

For anyone curious, here is a sneak peek of what I will be sellling.

These are all my consoles (no controllers, cords, or games shown):

Quick question:
Should I bulk sell, or sell one at a time?

Honestly selling one at a time would probably net you more money. It would be easier to just sell them to one person. Man i can feel for you. You have a pretty damn good collection of consoles.

Bulk it'll move more quickly, but one at a time you'll get a lot more money. Ideally you should just make several smaller lots.

How long do you have to get this all sold?

Hah, like I said, it took me a while (6 years!!!) to get these. Not too much classic gaming in my area.

No real time limit, but if I could have it sold in a month that would be great.

I think I will do a lot for almost every console, maybe bundle some.

You have a few not so common ones in there. Given there is no real time limit I would really recommend not selling in bulk - by putting in more time you will get more out of each item, as it makes sense not all people interested in a given item will at all consider buying the bulk.

Also look at ebay's completed listings for an idea of what you will get for each console - in some cases it really may not be worth letting go of it (this aspect has already been mentioned).

It is clear you don't want to talk about what is "forcing" you to sell, which makes it quite hard for anyone to give specific advice, are you sure there is really no other way? It is strange that there is no real time limit and yet you have to sell.

Anyway, the ones you just bought for the collection I think it is fine to sell, but the ones you have some sentimental attachment (like your first NES I guess), I really think getting a different unit after some years will never be the same. Could you not talk to your family and explain this to them, maybe they could advance the cash and you can somehow repay in instalments?

Haha, you are right.
The way this all seems is very peculiar.

But, trust me, the situation I'm in is somewhat peculiar.

The objective here is more "make (most of) my money back" rather than "pay this at this time"

I probably could keep one or two of these consoles, probably my NES and PS2- these two mean the most to me.

Other than that, I will be selling these and my cameras in several lots, starting this weekend, thanks to school.
