Electrolux Vacuum - I can't believe they still make it!

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Here in Maine we have a lot of Mom n Pop vacuum cleaner stores.
When I went to an all-vinyl music shop, it was in an area with a lot of mom and pop shops. I felt like I traveled back in time. As if the vinyl shop wasn't enough, there's was 2 or 3 vacuum shops that I saw, just on that one stretch of road alone!

My parents still have theirs, too. Actually, that's what made me bring up the topic of vacuum cleaners. My parents are going to visit my mom's father, and brought up a Power Nozzle for him. Apparently he still uses his Electrolux.

Wow, those things really suck. Surprised to see stores carry them in the US.
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

My mom has five broken bissels sitting around in her garage. For the same price she could have bought one electrolux that would last for decades instead of breaking after eight months.

Anybody remember Rainbow vacuums?

When I was a kid, I always thought they looked like R2D2.

They're still around; you can still buy one today (if you're rich).

An old roomate had his mother's old Rainbow vacuum. Pour some water in the base for the dust and stuff to stick to, then dump in the toiled and flush the hairball when done. Worked pretty decently as I recall and no bags to worry about. Though carrying the sloshy bit to the toilet was annoying sometimes.

I remeber that vacumm! Almost bought one at the swap meet due to the nostalgia. You are right ziggy that is something lost on most vacumms, the retractable cord. Oh, and the steel housing, chrome and whitewall tires, like a 57 chevy. :D

Oh yeah. My favorite was all the old VCR Repair shops that used to litter this area. Most of those have gone under or rebranded of course.
