Honestly I'm in the process of turning my phone into a multimedia/emulator little beast. I just need to get a good Bluetooth controller, wireless keyboard and a mhl to hdmi adaptor (since my phone can output 1080p.)

I'd much rather have the simplicity of being able to download roms directly to my machine then having to deal with connecting to a computer. Almost every emulator you could want is in the app store and roms are a couple taps away in the web browser.

I have yet to have an Android game crash on me. Granted, I haven't played that many, but none of the games I've tried have crashed.

Good thing I read this thread. I'm definitely giving this one a shot.
I would like to get ikaruga but $9?
Hey, the XBLA version on 800 points (equivalent to $10) and that can only be played on an Xbox 360. With the Android version, you can play the game on your phone, your tablet, an MP3 player, your set-top box, etc.
I'd be pissed if I buy that and the game crashes.
I agree, I'd be pissed too. I have faith that an Android game from Treasure won't be prone to crashing, though.

As great as Android phones are for emulation, they've got nothing against a modded PSP. I've yet to be able to get a ROM to work with WonderDroid and I've read that the WonderSwan PSP emulators are pretty good. Also, I'm a cheap bastard that won't pay five bucks for an NGPC emulator. Especially since it isn't a port of RACE.

This guide shows an easy way to mod your PSP. It's also not permanent.

For controls, look into some bluetooth controller options like the iControlPadand the iCade 8-Bitty. Hopefully, the iControlPad 2 comes out soon.

I wonder if I buy something on the play store am I able to down it on different android devices thru my account instead of having to rebuy it. Oh if anyone gets cyclone 2000 you will have to down the tempest 2000 soundtrack to get the music.

I'd recommend a PSP because it plays PSP games.
If we're talking emulation...
A powerful Android phone is better, assuming you have a bluetooth controller. Higher-resolution screen with more processing power means it looks and plays more accurately. A Galaxy S2 can play PS1 and N64 games at full speed, plus connect to your TV with HDMI.

Android emulation has really come a long way.

I'm going to go the opposite direction here and say Android>PSP.

At home you can use a Bluetooth controller on the phone and most have HDMI out. I had a GBA, CGB, SNES, and NES emulators and rocked that setup. On the road the touch controls were fine when you deal with games that only used the 4 directional without diagonal movements like Pokémon for example.

As for the games built for the system, Angry Birds are a must, Zenonia is a fun action RPG, Shadowgun is a nice Gears clone and many others.

Then again you cant compare the two at all. so meow.
