When Halo 2 on the O.G. Xbox first came out, it did not respect safe zones. Bungie literally never gave it a thought as they were developing the game. It really sucked on my Sony HD CRT TV. Within a few days, Bungie had patched the game to fix the issue. Now look at Bungie. They're no longer allowed to make Halo.

Very informative post, Jamisonia. I agree that safe zones need to go away. However text should never be right on the edge. It's just bad form and it looks bad. But a few pixels inside, no problem.
