If Guwange is DL only, that would change me from a def. buy to a def. no buy. That is the one i'd want most, but no interest in a DL title.

I'd love to see CAVE do something w/EspRaDe and Dangun Feveron (and Mushihimetama for that matter) as opposed to repackaging these titles :/
I think Mushihimesama is the 360 version as well. :P

I'm with you, though. It would be nice to see a collection of home conversions of other Cave games that haven't seen them before; Progear for one, and Dangun Feveron is such a novel shmup that I can't believe it's arcade only.
Where's Ketsui?
Oh, now I get it. They didn't include the 5PB conversions. Totally forgot about Ketsui.

Regarding Progear, as I understand it Capcom has the rights to it (or at least half of them).

Forgot about Capcom. Maybe they'll realize that they want to publish some shmups again.

I get the feeling that this collection is like Cave solidifying their resolve to not release any more shmups on this generation's console hardware. I'm still holding out hope for a SaiDaiOuJou port to the 360, though.

Here's what I don't understand - why so many of these great shmup titles only get released on Xbox 360 in Japan... when I've always heard that 360's sell like shit in Japan

5pb has the rights to both the Ketsui and DDP DOJ 360 ports, which is probably why they are the only 2 missing.

Most of the dedicated Cave fanbase is willing to purchase an Xbox to play them.. There is a good chance their audience would not increase on the ps3 anyways.. And, Cave and Sony had a falling out of sorts IIRC..

Wow, this collection is going to be epic. I really do hope they have an NTSC release.

This is actually a pretty great deal considering it includes a couple superplay dvds that regularly sell for $100 each.

However, there's a lot of speculation (which is just that, speculation) that CAVE is closing its doors (or at least the arcade development department) in the near future. Whether or not that is true or if CAVE are willing to admit it to themselves, I think they are missing a great opportunity to release the ultimate love letter to their fans- the comprehensive collection from DonPachi through SaiDaiOuJou. Unfortunately they probably think it isn't worth the trouble with all the stupid legal hurdles concerning Progear (and now apparently Ketsui & DaiOuJou)...

I remember reading they said it's also much cheaper and easier to port their games to the 360.

I don't think they are closing down, they seem to be doing better than a couple years ago. I mean, they still haven't released their games through steam which I think is pretty stupid but they don't look too bad now.

I'm willing to buy a 360 just for this collection
