AVGN: The Movie
Re: AVGN: The Movie
I've only seen a couple episodes but this looks pretty entertaining. I always thought a keith apicary movie could work in a similar manner.

I've sorta become a pretty big fan of his over the past year or two, but I was pretty skeptical about the idea of an AVGN movie. I didn't think a 90 minute version of one of his game reviews could work.
The trailer seriously impressed me. It's not a 90 minute review at all, and it looks pretty all around fun.

Glad to finally see something after all this time, and it seems pretty amusing so far. Some parts that I got a chuckle from:
"Do you have any clue where Area 51 even is?"
"Between Area 50 and 52?"
and
"Well, have you ever seen me play Top Gun? ...Not a pretty sight."

WANNA GET YOUR WALLS CRUSHED?

James is a nice guy, but I don't see the appeal of this at all.

we disagree on the appeal of a movie? Shocking!dsheinem wrote:James is a nice guy, but I don't see the appeal of this at all.
Re: AVGN: The Movie
Um. Yeah.
So where do you guys plan on seeing this? An imaginary theater?
Plan to watch it on your computer, a teeny indie theater, or at a film festival.
Some of the comments on this thread are laugh out loud funny. Calling him a professional film maker, and that he understands the camera are spit take funny. There are few shots where a characters full head is actually in frame. It's like that guy who takes awful pictures and always chops off part of your head.
And unless the jokes are intentionally bad, yikes.

Re: AVGN: The Movie
The way people were talking it up made me think some thought it would have a theatrical release.

Re: AVGN: The Movie
that's how I took it. Which is why it looks amusing to me. I mean, the "bad guy" has a tank for legs (Smash TV?) and a bloody nub for an arm. How is that not hilariously bad/awesome?Luke wrote: And unless the jokes are intentionally bad, yikes.

James is a big b-movie fan. Half of his site is all about old monster movies and whatnot. He's pretty much getting the opportunity to do something he's always wanted to do.noiseredux wrote:that's how I took it. Which is why it looks amusing to me.
