Most of my friends retro-game, but they focus on Nintendo (except one still plays PS1). None of them care about Sega or PC games older than five years, and none of them are anywhere near as serious about playing and collecting as I am.

Key-Glyph is a real-life friend. But otherwise I'm pretty sure I'm the only retro gamer I know?

I have a few friends who enjoy retro games, but don't actively collect or play old hardware on their own. My friend who I bonded with in middle school over video games mostly plays new games, or emulates old games on occasion. My brother-in-law enjoys old games, but is usually too busy with his two daughters to pull out his old systems. My other friend who's into video games only owns the current generation systems. My wife will on occasion play a retro game with me, but she isn't really a gamer. My son or daughter will get to learn all about classic video games when he/she is old enough. (He/she is -2 months old right now.)
My games for sale: Racketboy, Amazon, eBay
My systems: NES, Nintendo 64, GameCube (Game Boy Player), Wii / Game & Watch: Ball, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Advance SP (x2), Nintendo DSi / Genesis (Sega CD, 32X), Saturn / Game Gear / PlayStation, PlayStation 2 / Xbox / Mac (Windows PC) / iPhone, iPad

My one friend plays a lot of old games, and another decided to check out the SNES just a few days ago (he was raised on Sega consoles), but that's it. I guess the rest of my friends get their retro fill at my house when they play Typing of the Dead for an hour.

At least you don't make them play Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing for an hour. :)

Haha! No one's that sadistic... except my third grade computer teacher.

Most of my friends seem more interested in new / recent releases. On the rare occasion they may revisit an older game, but they don't really go out of their way to play them. Maybe the occasional replay of an old Final Fantasy or something, but that's about it. Usually when I bring up some retro game that I've been playing of late, I'm greeted with blank stares.

I have a friend who's really into NES games. He's got his family's childhood SNES, and Gen + CD; plus a red Wii too. But all he ever really plays is his NES. It's fun getting into arguments with him where he ruthlessly defends titles like The Three Stooges, and Spy vs. Spy.

My gf is also hooked on playing through the horror-survival, and puzzle titles in my collection. She couldn't have cared less about gaming when we started dating, so it's really neat to see how much it's grown on her.

My wife plays nothing but Tetris and Flicky. Does that count as retro?
