Where should I get a new DS Lite?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Usually I wouldn't mind getting a console or handheld used. However, with a DS (or a DS lite) I have some fears for the touch screen. Not to mention, it will introduce added difficulties for my courier, I bet.

Amazon?

Post by Ivo »

There is something I don't understand about Amazon. I go to check DS lite price there, and there's people selling used for more than the RRP that you can find NEW in Best Buy or Target (and namely Best Buy, before Xmas, had them in stock with free shipping). As far as I can see, there are no games included, and some people are selling them for 150 bucks instead of the RRP of 130 (and in some cases, the description mentions light scratches, or even the GBA port cover missing). Does anybody actually buy these used ones with this mark up? There is no longer an acute shortage of them, so I really don't get it.

My best bet is that the buyers are not from the USA.

You cant exactly buy a DS from Best Buy or something like that...

And everything here in Europe, i.e, is just as expensive as in the US.
Problem is that 100$ aren´t 100€ or 80 pounds....

Still, there must be shops exporting new ones with retail 130+post, right? These ones are almost certainly 150+post and they are used (because I'm pretty sure the postage to Europe is not included in the price :P)

Well...
Shops, that export such things arent very well advertised...

I had to search for hours until I found a shop, that did actually export and did not put an extra up on the price, so big, that it doesnt make sense anymore to do it.

And import<---->export alone is a problem, cause you have to import your games then too.

DS's are region-free, actually.

Guys, I need some suggestions of places to get the DS lite sort of soon - in Albuquerque, New Mexico state. All target stores are out of stock (OoS), Amazon, Best Buy, all OoS (I guess there's lots of happy people around with them now :) ), Walmart doesn't sell them online and I couldn't check the stores stock.

Guess I should have tried to get it before Xmas ;)

Oh well.

If any of you have a good idea of where to still find some in stock that can be gotten (stores) or get to (online) Albuquerque, let me know...
The only place I found so far was this, and I have no idea if it is even a safe bet or how much the shipping will cost (if at all):
