Gen 3 is my favorite. I loved the added weather effects and the map of Hoenn was really exciting to explore. I also loved the music.

Gen III and back is allll good, everything I else I won't touch. (Counting Gold/Silver remakes Gen II based on the Pokemon, not release time.)

Gen 1 and Gen 2. I can't really choose between them because Gen 1 has too much nostalgia factor, but Gen 2 were extremely solid additions to the franchise. Anything after Gen 2 is a pile of unimaginative crap, though. Especially the new games, they're just horrible in my opinion.

I'm not debating opinion, at all, but what do you find most awful about the later titles?

I thought the PETA parody/allegory (honestly, it's that open) of Gen 5 was pretty imaginative, as is the amount of depth they've introduced to the series, with all the IV/EV/Stat-variables/Shiny-breeding et al. Coupled with the fact, that if you watch any competitive match from the many official, and grassroots, tournaments on your streaming service of choice, they resemble something comparable to chess with the amount of measured thought and calculated risk involved.

The pokemon just seem completely stupid to me. They don't seem nearly as creative as the pokemon of Gens 1 and 2. I mean, come on.

I always question how someone can think that a ghost chandelier isn't creative but can think that a Seal pokémon named Seel is.

What else would you like to copy/paste from reddit in the defense of the latest gen pokemon? Because these are all obviously super-inspired creative pokemon.

I don't really feel I need to. I fail to see how any of those pokemon you posted are any different or less creative than the likes of Fearow, Growlithe, Exeggcute, Voltorb or any of the original set of pokémon.

And for the record, I don't actually go on reddit. I just googled the image, I've read the webcomic before.

I'm sorry, then. I feel bad for you if you can't see the difference. But I'm happy for you, that you can find more joy in the new pokemon games than you can in the old ones. I can't fault you for that, but I will never agree with what you are saying.
