That's very strange indeed.
Anyways, you can make TF2 look like the most terrible N64 game ever known to man so it shouldn't be an issue.

I'd be happy to play L4D2 with you sometime. We're already Steam friends, so just let me know when you want to play. I'm up for gaming most evenings.
As for TF2, it seems to work better with the settings toned down. Turning off anti-aliasing basically doubled my frame rate.
