Ok - so I was wrong. They never fixed anything , but you can still use the standard version of youtube by using the link below.

I suggest adding this to your bookmarks with the select button. Hope this helps anyone else annoyed by the new app.

Yeah, I was also going to mention that you can use YouTube XL still if you go there indirectly.
My only problem with the PS3 YouTube application is that the method for inputting characters is slow. I prefer the input where it's like entering characters on a cell phone. WAY faster.
