Yes, bit death is upon us someday in the future. I hope most of my games will outlive me but I guess we'll see. If we reach a time when emulation becomes the only option then we won't have a choice in the matter. On the bright side by that time emulation should be really damn good.

And yeah, I forgot to mention about the RetroN 3's controller ports. That's a big plus too since it has two ports for each system's original controllers. Which you will need, because the wireless controllers it comes packed with are piss.
