I have Bomberman Blast on Wiiware if anyone wants to play that online with me.

I got started on Bomberman 94 today aswell (the Mega Drive version, Mega Bomberman). I got to world 3, stage 2 (Slammin' Sea) before I game overed. The worst thing about this game is how you need to spend ages powering up again when continuing in order to stand a chance at progressing in the later levels. World 5 is a monstrosity, and World 3 is one of the meaner ones imo aswell. World 4 is a nice breather in the middle though.

This is actually the game I've owned the longest of all the games I own without ever having beaten it. I've gotten to the final level before, but it's long and brutal, and having to replay it when you die is horrible. This month, I am determined to finish this!

uh. I figured it was US. GameFAQs only lists a US version of this collection being released.

(though now I see that the text in the eBay picture is not English... but it looks like a stock photo doesn't it?)
From looking on Amazon, looks like a PAL only release.

Also, check out the comments on #14

Sorry bro, good find though.

I had no intentions of spending any more money but I really like '94. I'm going to try to obtain a cheap copy for the PC Engine.

*fingers crossed*

So, I sat down this evening to make a little more progress....and beat it 0_o.

I found an item combo that basically put the game on Easy Mode. Although I died once and had to go get the necessary power ups from other levels again, once I did, it was plain sailing to the final boss. The power up combo was the remote bombs (which let you choose when bombs detonate by pressing A, instead of them being timed) and the chain/line bomb (which lets you throw out a line of bombs by double tapping C, the length depending on how many you currently have). By the time I reached the final boss world, I had a silly number of bombs, and the line bomb filled up whole levels, walling in enemys and destroying anything before i could even get near me. Thanks to the remote detonator, it was easy to find time to seek cover for myself and avoid silly accidents too. The game is very hard in World 5 and 6 normally, but this combo made it a breeze.

I kinda feel bad now because I beat the Together Retro game for the month on day one. Hopefully we can get online bomberman on the go to make up for it. It doesn't seem like we have any takers for WiiWare Bomberman though :(

Is there a single player mode at all with Bomberman Live?

I have Bomberman Blast for the DSWare if anyone has a 3DS and wants to give it a run.

from Xbox.com:
Single Player, Xbox LIVE Multiplayer 2-8, Local Multiplayer 2-4, HD (High Definition), Xbox LIVE Vision. The award-winning hit Bomberman has gone live - Xbox LIVE! The full version of this classic game has eight exotic arenas where you can battle with up to eight players over Xbox LIVE! Customize your very own Bomberman with any of over 10,000 unique combinations. Unleash your fury using all your favorite power-ups to emerge victorious and prove who's best! There are no refunds for this item.
so it sounds like the single player is based on the original Bomberman?
