Current favorable era of gaming Adult vs. kid and why?

Since I'm an not an adult, I'll just compare myself to what I thought five years ago.
Kid: 7th Gen, probably because it had the most readily available games, and as such it was the generation I experienced the most of at the time.
Teen: 4th Gen. I feel that the 16-bit era was when gaming hit it's peak of combining old and new ideas to create games that are fresh and new, yet not completely alien and unfamiliar.
