Man, I need to shop at your Gamestop.

In my neck of the woods, the only Gamecube titles left (because I've bought all of the others) are $1 sports titles with generic cases. (I nabbed all of the $1 ones with legit cases, so I can reuse them) and a Mario Party or 2 for like $30 bucks. It's funny when all of the games are generic $1 sports titles or $30 Mario Party titles. C'mon Gamestop. LOL

and the PS2 is similar. There are a few $30 to $35 Fatal Frames and what not, but the rest are all those $1 yellow envelope games. My guess is that they'll never sell them, if they haven't already.

The PS2, like all systems was only 'Next Gen' up until the day it was first up for sale. Whatever PR flunkie or writer came up with that term needs to be dunked in a tank of hungry piranha. Maybe 20% of the time it is used to talk about previews of launch games on systems about to be released, the rest of the time it is idiots talking about a game coming out on a system that's been on the market for a while and saying it has 'Next Gen Graphics'. :x

Sorry. Pet peeve.

If people stopped buying games for current retail in hopes of picking them up in a few years for cheap, then video game production would stop completely, and there would no longer be new games to buy. There would be no incentive for developers or publishers to make new games.

Imagine a world where gaming never recovered in the 80s, and we were still stuck playing 2600 and ColecoVision. While that may be appealing to some people, it is unlikely because there are enough people wanting modern games to create a financial incentive for them to be created.

If you are suggesting that consoles beyond the PS2 are not worth caring for, then I may agree with you there. I am satisfied with my PSone and earlier. :)

well, i have a few gamestops out here and i asked one associate why the yellow envelopes. He told me they throw out the cases to make room for all the used games. lol. the thing is you have to look at each disk in hopes of fnding that good gem, i was lucky, i found a few.

The Video Game Crash was not really a crash in a sense. Everyone just started buying computers which were finally coming in about the same price point as a game console. The sales pitch was why buy a video game when you can have your kid learn a computer. Meanwhile the kid was playing video games on the Vic20, TI99, C64, Atari 400 and Apple II.

Maybe this is happening again with the PC or even the Cell Phone taking over?
