Actually finding these codes might be a hassle, but only one person has to do the work and find the codes, then the rest of us can simply hexedit the iso. Takes like 1 minute to do.
I think in the end probably all 3D games on pc´s and consoles can be fixed to display in true 16:9.
First it was the emulators, now real hardware, next step: arcade games. Naomi carts for example. It would be great to pimp a naomi universal with a bigger plasma and hex edit the 3D naomi games for 16:9.

See, my point is that there are games that are literally designed for 4:3. And if you change the aspect ratio there will just be invisible walls or even NOTHING. I wonder if it could even break some games.

If you change a 4:3 2D fighter to 16:9 there would just be invisible walls on each side. If you change a 3:4 shmup to 16:9... Well, a lot of them you probably just can't. There would be empty space. Along with invisible walls. Change a tetris style puzzle game to 16:9? Again, likely just empty space.

I could see bumping up the display resolution causing problems depending on the game. Perhaps even potentially overheating the GPU in some cases?

your ps2 will be fine and this is only for games with a 3D engine. Changing 2D puzzle games to 16:9? Just 3D games, did you see the pictures I posted?

That means that I could not make about 90% of the games I play into widescreen versions anyway. :P

@ d123456 - Great info! Nice to see all the care and offering an improvement of PS2 games for widescreen owners.

Those who don't like it. Noone forces you to use it.

But it's nice to have the option me thinks...
