Nominate your choices for my future top 100 Xbox 1 list
Re: Nominate your choices for my future top 100 Xbox 1 list
I like sabrage's thoughts, though I would also nominate the [first[/i] Kingdoms Under Fire game (Heroes) too.
Steel Battalion would be awesome... if you didn't have to mail in your XBOX for the upgrade and try to find the controller.
What happened to the Ninja Gaiden games? (Or the Oddworld franchise for that matter.)
Burnout 3 (or whatever the next one was) I think appeared on the XBOX. MegaMan:AC (XBOX) has some of the best extras of the three consoles. (Ditto with Prince of Persia: SoT)
Robotech: Battlecry (not to familiar with its sequel, Invasion) was a good play, but it was multi-console. (And I liked the GC version controlls.)
Xyanide, although it's an upgrade of the GBA game.
Want another 3rd person shooter? Armed and Dangerous. There's also XBOX exclusive, Cold War.
I think the Buffy games were all XBOX exclusive. Wasn't Crazy Taxi 3 an XBOX exclusive (though I hear better things about Sega GT Online)? Speaking of SEGA, there's always ToeJam & Earl 3.
PAL exclusive -- a rare English-translated Robot Wars game: Extreme Destruction. Arx Fatalis, an exclusive, is now open-source right?
And there are those promo games, like Sneak King, most of which are shallow, but fun to at least try.

My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

The original Kingdoms Under Fire was a PC-exclusive. Heroes is the third one in the franchise (after The Crusaders). +1 on Ninja Gaiden Black.pakopako wrote:I like sabrage's thoughts, though I would also nominate the [first[/i] Kingdoms Under Fire game (Heroes) too.

If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

-Arx Fatalis - A great action-RPG that follows in the footsteps of The King's Field and Elder Scrolls games.
-The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind: GOTY - If you're gonna do an XBox 1 list, you ABSOLUTELY MUST have this game. This game was a system seller. It got me to buy an XBox, for sure, and I can't be alone.
-Marvel Ultimate Alliance - The best comic book game based video game of that generation, IMO.
-Ninja Gaiden - I feel the same about this as I do Morrowind, how can you have an XBox 1 list without this game?
-Spider-Man 1 & 2 - Both are fantastic, yet drastically different games and are prime examples of licensed games done right. The controls are just so fluid in both games. The intense combat of the first game is very satisfying when you beat a level, while the freedom of the 2nd game is exhilarating. And playing as Green Goblin complete with his Goblin Glider and powers is still one of the coolest unlockables EVER (in the first game).
-Star Wars Battlefront - Awesome Star Wars game, one of the best, but it is multiplatform. The reason I included is because you said you don't care if it's multiplatform and this is one of the best multiplats that generation.
BTW, great job adding Panzer Dragoon Orta. So many people overlook that game, and I feel it's the best game in the series (not including Saga, because I just don't do JRPGs).

Even though this is multisystem, the Xbox version is graphically superior to any of that generations graphics (vs PS2). If I remember correctly it had better resolution than the PC port even...BurningDoom wrote:-Marvel Ultimate Alliance - The best comic book game based video game of that generation, IMO.

Hey guys, rather than just leaving your recommendations, I want this thread to thrive based on actual reasons for their choices rather than just list choices. I want an actual discussion, especially with obscure titles that probably not many people have played.

Wait was there ever an American Xbox version of Castle Shikigami 2?! I've never seen that cover before.

I haven't played the later Ultima games. The last ones I played were the 2 NES games. Back then it was a random-encounter, turn-based RPG.sabrage wrote:ftfyBurningDoom wrote:-Arx Fatalis - A great action-RPG that follows in the footsteps of The King's Field and Elder Scrolls games Ultima Underworld.
Arx Fatalis is a real-time action-RPG played from the first-person perspective. Which are big parts of both the King's Field and Elder Scrolls games. I don't see why the connection with those games wouldn't fit.
