Re: Dreamcast: PAL + DC-X vs NTSC-J
Well I got a PAL console nice and cheap on ebay tonight so I have options to explore now. Here's hoping!

Re: Dreamcast: PAL + DC-X vs NTSC-J
dc-x does not work with every game.
Yu Suzuki Game works for instance still detects you Dreamcast as PAL and will display slow 50 hz for several games in the compilation, not all games, strangely.
But, dc-x works great for most if not all other games. So it is still a pretty save bet....

Yeah that might be an exception. I think Dreamcast usually has no difference between NTSC or PAL consoles beside composite & s-video color mode?
Which shouldn't even matter if you're able to run compatible games in RGB SCART or VGA.
I'd suggest trying boot discs for now. Then explore region mods once settled in. Permanent automatic region free saves a great deal of time spent swapping discs.

It's the best there is though without modding though. Is there a compatibility list out there at all?d123456 wrote:dc-x does not work with every game.

I found DC-X has worked with everything I have tried, which I cannot say for Utopia or Codebreaker. DC-X is also apparently the only thing that works with Fire Pro Wrestling D.
