That's my thought. I wasn't insinuating that it was a local Canadian problem, but it was a border problem. Did they not give you a tracking number, or is that only when you buy through eBay?
They give free 1st class shipping with orders over $25, so I've always just gone with that. No tracking number with that.

I'm not sure why they call it "1st class." It is the most basic shipping.

First Class is almost the same as Priority for US mail as long as it is under 13 ounces. At least within the US, FC is usually only a couple of days to get somewhere but occasionally it will get hung up somewhere. I've had Priority packages take longer than they should as well though.

Just to pour some salt in the wound, I got one of their automated messages for my order:
Hi there Breetai,

So, by now your order items have been shipped to you, and you've had some time to try them out. How have you liked them so far? Are they enjoyable?

We'd certainly love to hear about it and so would a bunch of other customers who may be considering the same products. If you wouldn't mind taking a minute to write a review about the items you've purchased, we'd sure appreciate it. Best of all you'll be entered to win a $50 gift certificate just for sharing your opinion!

Thanks, and have a great day!
I responded and told them how I've liked them so far. Basically, I told them I would like to received these games I purchases going on 7 weeks ago and ask them to resend them.

I've always had reservations about Lukiegames, and I'm not even from Canada! They always appear whenever I do eBay searches for games I'm looking for, and their feedback isn't exactly perfect. Good prices, but their service? I've gotten burned with other sellers and slow shipping this year over there, and I don't want to add another issue.

Here is the rest of the correspondense:

8 days ago:
I'm sorry you haven't received your order! We show that it shipped 4/24 under USPS Customs ID # ***********. Unfortunately the customs ID is not an actual tracking number so we do not have any additional information. Let me confirm the address we shipped to –

----
-----
----
Canada

If that is correct I'd suggest checking with your local post office using the above ID number as a reference. Rest assured we guarantee every item that ships, and if for any reason your order doesn’t arrive we will send a replacement at no cost to you!
I responded some time later that I had checked the post office. This was the response three days ago:
Hi Breetai,

6 weeks is a long time but it does happen, especially with larger boxes, it really depends on how backed up customs is at any given time. In our last message we suggested checking with your local post office. Sometimes packages sit at the post office undelivered and then they are returned to us as “unclaimed” stating that the person never came to pick up their package. It’s rare but it happens, I would suggest checking for it at the post office as there is a good chance it may be there.

Thanks,
I responded that I would check at the post office again. The "good chance it may be there" at the post office gets an  .

My comment after their automated message was my most recent email to them.

They did promise to sent a replacement to my order at no cost if it doesn't arrive. We'll see what happens (if it does come in, or if they send a replacement).

According to their site on delivery times:
International shipping times can vary widely. When you check out you have a choice for First Class International or Priority International (Priority is the only option for packages over 4 lbs.). First Class orders to Canada average 6 to 12 business days, and Priority averages 5 to 9 business days. For all other countries Priority averages 6 to 10 business days. First Class shipping varies too widely to be estimated. Please note about 5% of international orders take longer than normal, up to 4 or 6 weeks to arrive. This is often due to a hold-up in customs or mis-routing in the country. Although we cannot guarantee delivery time we do guarantee that your item will arrive. If it has been long enough for the USPS to classify it as lost we will ship a replacement.
Don't worry, less than 1 in 10,000 of our shipments fail to arrive at their destination – however the USPS does sometimes misroute them or in the case of international shipments they can be held up in customs. In the unlikely event that your order is lost we will of course send you another. If you are in the US and it has been over 2 weeks since your order shipped, or if you are international and it’s been over 6 weeks please email us at [email protected] with the details of your order and we will help you out.
April 24th-June 2nd is going onto 6 weeks (opps, I said going on 7 earlier). I don't really think I jumped the gun, though, as they are usually very close to 2 weeks shipping to Canada. It will be exactly 6 weeks on Tuesday.

The USPS site is not exactly clear to me on when it is "lost" if mailed first-class. I didn't pay for insurance, as Lukiegames guarantees it. The USPS site doesn't seem to mention much about late international orders except for giving a number to call.

So, just figured out the they sent stuff on June 1st because of their error in selling me something that wasn't in stock (I did now this a few days after, as they informed me). So, it's pushing 5 weeks; not 6. Still... it's a very long time when I expect around 2 weeks.

I'll just patiently wait until the 6 week mark then and blame customs.

Canada Post is the slowest 1st World Post in the world. No one needs to be offended by this. Unless you, my supple and lovely Canadian friend, are a shot-caller for them, then don't take it personal.

From my understanding (in discussing the MANY delays on packages I ship to CAN) with postal employees at 3 separate officers in my area, Canada Post has a policy of not sending a truck to deliver until that truck is full. That is a cost effective and "green", however it is also the reason stuff doesn't move like it does in much of the world. It is what it is.

I ship all over the world, and even countries you probably wouldn't consider "1st world", like Vietnam, Thailand, UAE and Taiwan, stuff arrives faster than when I ship to CAN. I only ship priority on international, so it isn't any sort of "mail classification".

I've often shipped to AUS / UK / CAN on the same day and within 7-12 days I get confirmation from the AUS / UK buyer that all is well. CAN takes 14-21 days...and often longer. It leaves Chicago International usually the day after I drop it off.

Yeah, I do know that. I mean, when I was living in Japan I shipped a LOT of games out to various people. People in Canada often reported that they'd received their stuff later than people in other countries.

Still, that wasn't my concern. I've ordered from Lukiegames probably half a dozen times recently, and a couple of my local friends are frequent customers of theirs as well. Every time, save once, they were within a day or two of 2 weeks. The other time was between 3 and 4 weeks. So, I got worried that it was lost in the mail or something.

Thanks all. I'll hopefully report back in a week or two with my stuff. It'll probably be the last of the things I buy in a while, until I'm working more stably. From then on, I'll be getting way more into importing from Japan. Stuff is usually nicer from there. I need some Saturn and PC Engine stuffs. :)

We should just collectively buy Breetai tickets back to Japan. :P
