I really like having wood floors, the big problem with them is the amount of dust they seem to generate, I can clean my house top to bottom, a week later there are dust bunnies everywhere.

I don't think wood floors generate any more dust than carpets. With a carpet, the dust/hair will be in the piles, pushed down towards the floor. Wood floors/tiles are more hygenic in my opinion.

And a hell of a lot easier to clean when you need to.

Actually with my carpeted rooms I have to just vacuum, but in the wooden rooms (which is most the house) I have to vacuum and flat mop. I love having them though, nice when you spill something and there is no stain, they get dented a bit, but you learn not to worry about it after awhile.
