Of course I'd prefer the original system and original game. However, it's much easier to just buy and play games on compilations/re-releases/ports.

I also believe if you have to spend more than 40.00 for one title where as the collection or anthology is going to cost you like 20.00 then it may be worth it. Like mega man x collection usually is 20.00 or so for ps2 and gamecube (if you find a good deal) than getting every mega man x games becaue if I remember mega man x 3 is 50.00 and up alone.
Same thing really goes for any of the snk collection/games. A neo geo is 300.00 or so then the games are 40.00 and up.

but for me playing crazy taxi or marvel vs capcom 2 on the dreamcast..... iT'S JUST WORTH IT.
Bravo! Couldn't agree more with you man. Pop in these games on DC with a complimentary Agetec Rally Wheel/ Arcade Stick and VGA display to boot and i'm on cloud 9 baby!

With that said though, I'm def not against one getting their experience on a different platform for reason that may include convenience, affordability etc. It's Goodtimes for everyone and compilations are great at the end of the day! :D

alot of people like to focus collecting on one or two systems so its nice having anthology collection and hd versions on newer systems. means more money for me to spend on my saturn and dreamcast 8)
