By softmodding the Xbox, can you play imports and backups?
Yes.

Are you still working on the GC mod Mason?

For my Mod, I started gathering information on my GC mod at this site.

So uh...it seems there's no good sites left to buy a Xeno or Qoob at this point. The only ones that still "Sell" them have entirely negative reviews on resellerratings.com, with nothing but reports of robbery. And here I just bought a Cube for $30 thinking I could find a chip easily. Does anyone know where to go, or do you have a chip to sell me?

Searching for a specific Shop Area?
Meaning:
Can the store be everywhere? As long as he ships to the US, of course.

Well I changed my mind. I'm not going to bother with this system. I'm just going to buy the few games I desperately miss, starting with these

And got some accessories coming

I really wanted to add to this thread with out discouraging anyone.. but.. I have modded 3 GameCube's and each one had different results.. Most of the time I found its all about the hardware they were shipped with. I ended up keeping out of the 3, a black GameCube that I have never had any issues with DREs with just plain Sony miniDVDs I pick up at target. For all the GC's I used the Viper Extream and have never had troubles with it. The #1 thing that people have troubles with are disc read errors [DREs] and for that you have to bust out your multi meeter and adjust the POT on your laser. I had different reading from all 3 of the GC's I had. It was very frustrating but I don't think there is a middle ground. Once you get it then it should work every time.

Just like most 5th and 6th gen DVD consoles it is picky with media. My buddy has his modded also but he cannot play any of my games.. but they work fine on mine and vise versa. I cant play any of his ... or at least with no DREs.

Wrap up: I think its just a troubleshoot MOD with the GC but if your a Nintendo fan, its worth it.

Side note: All my Sony miniDVDs play fine in my Wii with the Wiikey. Just FYI
