The guy next door to me is really into fighters (he buys one about...every two weeks...) but we're on at a pretty even skill level. We play all the time.

There's one guy I play games with, and we do play fighters on occasion. We're about even skill level, so rounds of say, Mortal Kombat II end up being loads of fun.
Re: Do you still play Fighters with friends?
We have a pretty big fighting game scene here, even though we lost all of our arcades. There is a place in town called the Tekken House where people just go and hang out and play fighting games. Tekken is huge here but we play all fighting games. There's also an annual tournament here called Final Round which is the largest fighting game tournament on the east coast. I'd say there are about 10 people I consistently play with and about another 10 I play with at tournaments.

Alright, I am decidedly jealous of you guys, but I'm glad to hear that folks still get the opportunity to play against other folks, especially in person.

I've really been into fighters recently, but most people in my hometown don't play em. My brothers into them and I play him the most but I don't see him often. I'd be totally down for thursday night fights on PSN. Right now all I own on it is Tekken 6 though.

Ive been taking my non-gaming beer drinking buddy through my capcom fighter collection for the past few months about once a week. It has been the highlight of my gaming fun recently.

I play fighters with friends in person about once a week. Unfortunately, they are not very skilled. Winning every time gets boring because they don't even try to improve and learn the mechanics or moves. Just button mashing... I'm no pro at fighters either, but I've really been taking some time to get good at a few of my favorites.

I'm a solo fighter mostly. I just try to beat the game.
I'm terrible at fighting games so when I do occasionally play 2-player it's with people who are at a similar skill level (like my wife). I would never dare play online against yous dudes as I would get annihilated (moot point anyway since all my fighting games are retro and none of my consoles are online anyway).
I think this is my first post in the fighters forum........ hi everyone.

I play weekly w/my 6yo on the arcades and more and more on PS3 lately.
I used to have to set a handicap, but no longer, he's gotten pretty good the past 6 months, ask Mark.
I agree, playing w/my buds on racket isn't in the same realm (satisfaction-wise) as playing strangers online. Between spammers, rage quitters, and kids w/their mics, I try to avoid online against strangers altogether.
I really enjoy my matches w/Sev and Noise.

Re: Do you still play Fighters with friends?
samesies. I think just having the handful of dudes here who are around to play fighting games with me has changed my view on one of my favorite genres completely. Prior to last year, I still loved fighting games, but played through them alone. That was the experience I was used to. Now, I'm all about the online component of them. And because I'm playing against real people -- ones who improve with practice -- it never gets old. Hell, SF4 was the very first PS3 game I bought, and I still pop it in regularly.mjmjr25 wrote: I really enjoy my matches w/Sev and Noise.
The only game I've realy ventured online against strangers with has been SFxT. Not sure why, but I just love that game so much I've really wanted to see myself improve.
