Saturn issues (Gets stuck on intro, among other problems)

If the Saturns are so reliable, I must be bloody unlucky.
First Saturn I wanted to buy didn't work when tested so I didn't buy it.
First Saturn I got (traded Xbox games for it) had the same problem as the one in the original post. I cleaned the lense and greased the gears and now it works most of the time but it still won't play all games and freezes from time to time.
Second Saturn I got does not recognize that there is a disc inserted. I didn't manage to fix it despite trying everything. Seller left the country so no refund but she gave me a free N64 & GBA & Dreamcast so that's cool.
Today I ordered one from Ebay which is supposed to be in good working condition. We'll see...

I am also experiencing difficulties...
I just got a copy of Panzer dragoon 2 in really good condition and it boots up on my saturn and loads the intro and title screen just fine. Once I get past the first cutscene, the game stops and goes back to the saturn home menu......The odd thing is that on the home menu, the system still reads the disc, I can even select it again and boot the game up but If I do that, the same thing will happen
