Alright, so I tried Tomba! in my PS2 and surprise, surprise, it froze on the first load screen. However, it seems to play just fine on my slim 120GB PS3 (CECH-2001A). I messed around for about an hour, let the cut scenes play, and even started the game a couple times from new game and from a save, and was able to load the next area w/out any trouble.

Great! So the PS3 doesn't necessarily have the same B/C issues as a PS2, even with technically a lower compatibility rate. Thanks for the info.
