Re: Steam coming to Linux!
Sweet! This is excellent news; I probably won't be using Windows very much now that TF2 will be ported to the OS.

Re: Steam coming to Linux!
I'm thinking Epic and Id will likely release Linux binaries for games they have on the service. (If they have a say)
I'm pretty sure EA, Activision, and UbiSoft give no shits. (especially because their DRM mechanisms won't actually work on Linux, for the most part.)

Re: Steam coming to Linux!
While I really want this to happen, it's hard for me to get too excited with no official statement from Valve. It looks like they're playing around with porting some source games and steam clients to linux, but that doesn't mean they're going to go all out with Linux support.
It could mean all sorts of things really. Maybe they plan for a steambox to run android and want to familiarize themselves with Linux. Maybe they'll release their own distro. Maybe they'll release games through the ubuntu software centre. Maybe they're just dicking around. We just don't know anything yet.
There have been rumours of valve rolling out linux releases since Half Life 1, and they have yet to officially release a linux version of anything besides server software.
