Hey, just a quick bit of test marketing. I believe I'm going to be doing 2 print versions of the book, one in full color and one in black and white. The advantage is that I can charge far less for the B&W version, which will make it accessible to more people. I haven't nailed down pricing yet, but let's say full color $40, B&W $15? The print version is going to be about 250 pages. Any feedback from the people who want print?

Oh man, that's a tough question. For the average book reader, I'd say a $25 price difference would be tough to justify me buying a color version. Then again, I usually budget myself frugally. It depends on how quality the colors shots will be.

That's why I'm leaning towards doing both. I have to do the full color version for the kindle conversion, and it doesn't really cost me anything to have it available in both versions.

As to the screenshots there are going to be a few hundred as well as cover scans for all the games. They are going to be high quality as well.

Awesome! Congratulations! I'd probably read it, if I had an iPad or iPod.

Thanks, and don't worry, the print and kindle versions are being worked on. Hopefully have print up in a week and a half or so, kindle a couple weeks after that (takes time to convert it).

You can get a sample of the book via the iBookstore. It is formatted nicely, with pictures and a gameplay video.

Print version is now available. I cut down the page count to 115 to keep the price at a manageable $25 (full color, hundreds of screenshots, cover scans of all games covered). The Amazon link should be coming within a week, and the Kindle version should be coming in about 2-3.

OK, finally all versions are up. There's the iPad (with gameplay footage), the Kindle (which can be read on any platform including desktops with their app download), and print. Check out all the links at

The SMS Encyclopedia Vol.1 is now Available for Kindle, iPad

Post by onemanfilmcrew »

After many months of work, the first volume of my new project, the Sega Master System Encyclopedia is now available for both the iPad and the Kindle (as well as in print)

About:
The first volume of The Sega Master System Encyclopedia is now Available.
The Sega Master System Encyclopedia aims to be the definitive publication on the system. Every game has an in depth review, multiple screen shots, and cover shots.
The goal with this is to make sure that the memory of the games from this era lives on for future gaming generations. Granted not all of the games within these pages deserve to be remembered fondly, but they do deserve to be remembered nonetheless.
The reviews are equal parts informative and entertaining. While the purpose of encyclopedias isn't to be entertaining, the purpose of gaming is, so there was a great effort to make reading about games fun.
In Volume One a total of 29 games are examined.

The iPad version includes gameplay footage. Both digital versions are $4.99, and the print version is $25.

All links can be found at www.TheVgaTV.com

Please let me know what you all think! I'm working on volume 2 right now so any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I think this is a great project, I saw the CGR review and got the Kindle version. You think you can make a Play Store version with the footage? (if technically possible off course).

Good job.
