It's certainly more light hearted, I can say that much without even having of gotten too far in IV. Still, it's not like overly kiddy or anything.Xeogred wrote:Opposite of bruno, for whatever reason I never finished BoFIII though. I remember getting stuck several times with some trial and error stuff or something, and the storyline felt very lighthearted in comparison to IV from what I played, but maybe it changes later. I only got about 10 hours in and Ryu was a kid the whole time for me, I know he grows up later in the game.

I can see how the series is a little hard to get into. It's pretty generic really (not counting V), but it has a lot of charm. I had fun with them, and am looking forward to tackling the rest of IV down the road.

Re: Breath of Fire series
I own the first two on SNES but never really played much of the first one. I got somewhat far in the 2nd one. These games require a lot of grinding I found. They are good but not the best. I haven't played the later installments.

Tried several times to get into this series but it never ends well. Not sure why but they always come across as a bit average to me

BOFIII is another RPG I need to go back and complete. Been putting it off for years. I don't even think I got half way thru the game my last time playing it.

Re: Breath of Fire series
Anyone play the (European) PSP port of part III?
Worth getting if I already have the PS1 version?

Re: Breath of Fire series
Not really. It's a decent port, but if you have the PS1 version it would be more than pointless to get the PSP port unless you absolutely must be able to play it on the go. Slower loading times, pretty much everything else is identical.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Worth getting if I already have the PS1 version?

Well, I really don't want to fiddle around with this damn card tournament, so I'm shelfing it and officially starting on Breath of Fire. Does anyone remember how long these are?
