Xbox 360 Green Tint and Red Ring... Uh ohz...
Re: Xbox 360 Green Tint and Red Ring... Uh ohz...
sell your old console and buy the new s model. you will be surprised how cheap the console can be. I think I got my console for 150 dollars including the 250gb HDD I bought not long ago.

This requires much more than basic soldering. You need to reball the processors. You need expensive gear to do that. You could just try to reflow the balls with an adjustable heatgun and tin foil to protect the rest of the board. But that's hardly the right way to do it, and probably won't last as mentioned before. Also, you will need special clamps to keep the board straight while reflowing / reballing. And in case of reballing you'll need the right stencils, and soldering balls. Maybe you'll even need to straighten the board itself already...
Problem is that it's not just broken. The thing has a design flaw. So even if you repair it, it will happen again. Unless you intend to mod it to cool down more after you saved it...
Still feeling confident?...

My console had the same exact problems as OP. When I did the X-clamp fix, shined-up both the GPU and CPU and reapplied thermal paste, my 360 has been running like new since then (that was 2009).
Whatever happened to this fellow's 360, anyway?
