The contempt around the exclusive NFL license is a two way street. The nfl wanted that for marketing and branding reasons also. Now, the quality of games produced with this license is a valid point.

EA's stock has been getting blasted recently so I've seen their name around that as well also.

That's the nature of the business with any developer. Rockstar, Bethesda , Bioware all do the same. When there are deadlines in any business, this tends to happen.

I realize that, but in EA's case it wasn't just near deadlines.

But this happened right after the 2k series came out with a better game and offered it for the budget price of $19.99. So it is hard to look past EA being the ones to blame here, and I dont play sports games, but I have heard enough people talk about the yearly installments offering almost no innovation, so it was bad for the market in general.

I hate EA for their war on used games and the way the ruined the Medal of Honor reboot. The one serious chance a franchise had to dethrone Call of Duty, and they screwed the pooch royally.

I hate Activision with a passion, too. They ruined the FPS genre and let Star Trek PC gaming die (I'm a huge Trekkie, so that's a serious gripe point with me).

While this is amusing, there's just no way EA should have won against Bank of America. Even besides that I'd have taken Comcast, AT&T, or even Best Buy before EA. Now, if it was a worst video game company in America award, that would have been more justified.
