Yeah, it's almost definitely mario. Kirby is a big contender though, with star stacker, pinball land, block ball, tilt n tumble, power paintbrush, mass attack, dream course, avalanche and more all offering something out of the normal kirby gameplay

Final Fantasy is pretty ridiculous. In addition the "core" games (the numbered ones) you have all the enhanced ports/remakes, the sequels (X-2, XIII-2, Crisis Core, etc), Tactics, Crystal Chronicles, Dissidia, expansion packs for the MMOs, 4 Heroes of Light......not to mention the four "fake" Final Fantasy games on Game Boy.

Megami Tensei series. You have the original MegaTen games, the Shin Megami Tensei line, the Devil Summoner games, Digital Devil Saga, the Raidou Kuzunoha games, the Persona games, Demikids, the Last Bible games, the Majin Tensei games, then a boatload of one-off spinoffs.
