Lol that happens to be the one that bothers me the least, nowadays I just wish I could go back and see what the games were because now I want to know. haha

Honestly I can even live without the Majora's Mask box, but especially since I'm actively looking for an N64 box now, I've been kicking myself thinking about letting that one go. That box just brings back such fond memories from my childhood. Can't wait till I get my hands on one.

Oh and don't even get me started on things that I've traded in. Those stories never end well. haha

I actually started a similar thread last year, ksloth. Great minds think alike.

I haven't done anything too bad, let me think...

- I let a really sketchy "friend" of mine borrow Earthbound when I was about 17. The complete package: game, box, strategy guide... Think I ever got it back?

- Bought my first N64 used and was excited because I thought the seller had included the expansion pak with it. Was very surprised later when Majora's Mask didn't work. Turns out all I had was the jumper pak (didn't know such a thing existed).

- Was positive that my PS3 was displaying the yellow light of death a few months ago. Started going through the necessary steps: contacting Sony, getting it ready to ship. Turns out the display simply needed to be reset as I had switched from HDMI to AV cables. The obvious question here is: why couldn't I simply see that the light wasn't yellow? I'm colorblind.

- I took a "break" from video game for a long time...like 6-7 years. It made sense at the time, but I've lived to regret it as I missed all the 5th and 6th generation games when they were new. What sucks is that I know if I had been gaming then I would have bought games like Valkyrie Profile and Panzer Dragoon Saga (I was really into SNES RPGs), but now I'll never be able to afford used copies of such games.

NOT GAMING RELATED BUT STILL MONUMENTALLY STUPID:

When I was in college I became very involved with anarchist politics and the associated music (DIY hardcore, grindcore, crust, etc). One day I decided to purge all the "reactionary" music from my collection so I sold about 120 excellent (and quite rare) black metal and industrial albums for pennies on the dollar. About one year later I realized how ridiculous that was. I'm still trying to buy back some of those albums, many have gone out of print (of course!).

I stopped gaming (I still played and had a Gamecube and my PC but nothing like what it was or how it is now) for a bit right around 2003-2005 and come my first year of college I sold my original Genesis and Master System. I really needed money for more musical equipment/sheet music. I've always regretted that decision. I have a a new Master System and Genesis of course, but that Genesis I had new when it first came out and I will never get that one back. *sniffle*

That was shortly followed by selling my launch Gamecube when the Wii came out.

Back when I was poor in the early to mid 90's and making crappy minimum wage, I sold my SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, my Super Metroid, Secret of Mana, and Final Fantasy III carts, all the awesome games I had - because I wanted to be able to afford this exciting new Playstation thingy.

I wish I had never traded all that stuff.. I miss it all terribly. I've payed more rebuying the stuff I traded than I ever got for it in trade.

Being a younger member of this site, I'm 15, I was 10 when I got my Nintendo DS Lite. It was so awesome and next-gen to me at the time that I gave away my GBA, GBA SP, and all my GBA games, around 10 games including Mario 3 and Mario World, to Good Will. I've ended up buying most of the games back, and thankfully the DS Lite plays GBA games, so in the end I guess I'm glad I did a good deed, but I also kinda regret it.

When I was 12 or 13, I passed up buying Final Fantasy 2 and 3 complete on SNES for $20 a piece from a friend. Been kicking myself ever since.

Yeah. I too was young and foolish. Threw out all of the boxes to my good SNES games: F.F.2 & 3, Super Mario RPG, Ogre Battle, Turtles in Time. Yet I kept all the manuals. Duh.

Then later on, I sold my substantial DC collection (50+ games) for a pittance to get a Gamecube.

2 years ago I saw Bible Adventures for Sega Genesis COMPLETE for $1 at a local thrift store, I didn't think much of it at the time because I didn't collect then but now I go to the same spot looking for it like it's there every time I go to that thrift store

The only thing I can remember that I really regret now is letting a friend of mine borrow my Xenosaga trilogy and completely forgetting about them until after moving to another state. After calling him up to see about him mailing them to me, he had apparently never even played past half way through the first one and his mom had thrown them out in some big ordeal.

I used to trade my games in for crappy prices at game stores like many of you did, but I don't have any horror stories about that. Not for a good reason, though: my taste in games used to suck is all. I never owned anything particularly great or valuable until I learned better than to trade stuff in.
