Well they said that it was "BRUTAL" the Contra games never seemed "Brutal" to me. Hell, I think the Mario games were harder.
What the...?
I'm too tired to tell if you're being facetious or not. :?
I can't recall any Mario game that was harder than any of the Contra games so I guess you'll out do me at Contra IV then.
I was referring to the NES games. I don't know why, but I find the Contra games easier. Then again, Mario doesn't have a gun.

Mario is not hard. I am trying to recall a point in Contra that you can get hang around getting as many extra lives as easy as you please. Maybe that's why the Contra code was implemented.

The NES contra games are pretty hard until you've played them several times and know what to expect. Once your twitch skills are up to speed you can nail the games to the wall, but until then they can be quite challenging. They also get much harder 2-player, whereas most games get easier with 2. And it's not because enemies take more hits or fire more bullets. Its just that varying skill levels between the players can get both players really messed up.

I honestly think that the NES Mario games are harder than the NES Contra games. The SNES Mario games are easier to me than Contra III though.

Well to each their own, right~ Though I've never played a single level in any Mario game (NES~GC) that was harder than Contra on 'hard'.

And a side note, it really sucks that I now live/work in Japan and Contra IV is coming out in the US (soon) and it's not even scheduled for a Japan release any time soon... Reversal of roles sure sucks.

It's about stinking time that Japan gets the shaft on a game instead of the US/EU :D

I think all you have to do to get US vc games on your Wii is switch your language and visit the store, isn't it? Something like that. I saw a video about it on YouTube.

This could be said of every shooter, and almost every thing. It's called practice and memorization.

Sorry just still baffled Mario can be considered hard in any way. :)
