Do yourself a favor and just buy one of those security bits to open the cart up. You really don't NEED to open the cart, but it's so much easier to clean it that way. You can melt a pen down and use that to open it, but it's kinda a one shot deal. Since you have a new pin connector, you'll wanna clean up all your carts real nice. Putting dirty carts into your NES will only dirty up your new pin connector.

You're problem really does just sound like the cart wasn't cleaned good enough. Use rubbing alcohol, with a higher percentage, and don't dilute it. Normally you'll see 70-something percent rubbing alcohol, but you should also be able to find 90-something percent in a drug store or where ever. I got mine in Wal Mart. When you buy rubbing alcohol, it's part alcohol and part water. The percentage is how much alcohol there is. So 90-something percent means it's mostly alcohol. Also, electrical contact cleaner is usually just a high percent rubbing alcohol, so that'll do the trick as well.

Don't be afraid to really scrub those pins. Of course, don't use something harsh like sand paper. I usually use a toothbrush and scrub, then follow up with a clean rag to remove any debris left behind by the toothbrush. You'll wanna wipe the pins before the alcohol evaporates (which is really fast - that's one of the reasons why we use it). If you scrub with alcohol then just let it dry, you really didn't clean it. You might have got some dirt/grime/whatever off, but you mostly just moved it around then let it dry back on the contacts. You wanna scrub with alcohol, then wipe with something clean that wont leave lint.

I'd highly recommend what everyone else is saying here. Get a Game Bit, open it up and do a thorough cleaning. Use a soft white art eraser on the contacts if alcohol won't do the trick.
Awesome I will let you know, Thanks :)
