Usually i like to have a bag of chips, which helps grease my controller so i can do quarter circle easy and a cold beverage such as soda or beer. If im playing retro console, i usually have my laptop near by so i can have the map, hints, guide, etc already opened.

Kinda surprised how many of you smoke around your games... Kinda reads like a "do not trade" list.

I dunno man, electronic cigs are really sketchy. Better to just go with paper and tobacco in my opinion. I quit smoking myself, but yeah I used to chain smoke while playing games too.

As for me:
-Seating: Doesn't really matter. I usually try and sit as close to the screen as possible, but any kind of seat will do. I used a folding chair for a good year or two in my old gaming den/man cave. As a kid I would just sit on the floor.

-Supplies: A bottle of vodka or a 12 pack used to be required for a gaming session, but I've been cutting back on that heavily. A few beers or a couple shots of vodka is still nice though. Water is good too. I don't usually snack on anything. I'm really anal about getting residue of any kind on my controllers.

-Screen: These days I really do try and use the best screen/inputs/configuration possible. I've got a pretty nice 42'' HDTV with a good number of inputs that I use for most of my consoles, and a CRT for stuff like PSX that I don't have any fancy hook ups for or that looks really good on CRT.

-Environment: Quiet and no people is usually what I want, but it depends on the game kind of. I don't mind people watching me, so long as they are quiet if it's a game that requires a lot of focus and concentration. I have been known to get really pissed off at being disrupted though, especially if I'm using headphones and they are constantly talking to me during some kind of online/competitive play. I generally have my gaming sessions at night while the girlfriend and dog are sleeping so I don't have anything to get distracted by or worry about, and everything is quiet.

Guess that's pretty much it, a nice screen, minimal distractions, and some booze if the mood strikes.

Here we go...
-Good seating. I currently have a leather bean bag, and, although comfy. It is hot as HELL in this Texas heat. I'd like to get a nice recliner or one of the actual 'chair' bean bags. (CLOTH!!)
-A drink. I generally prefer water, though I'm not agianst soda. I like to have it set up to where I can drink while still playing... but that doesn't happen often.
-Believe it or not, I prefer having another person in the room. Some kind of hang over from the old days with my friends when there was only one controller. I love playing and having a girl ask me questions.
-As much as I love animals, keep them out of the room while I'm playing.
-My cell phone. You know you love a girl when you pause a game to text her...
-A tight, steady controller.

I always get nervous and start sucking if I have people watching. Plus, a certain sibling of mine is a real-life troll and I hate listening to his comments every time I lose.

I happen to be one of the few people in the world that likes the smell of cigarette smoke.
