Should I do what I've seen a lot of people do and take pictures of my games laid out on the floor or something and post those? I've thought about it, but I don't know if it would be that interesting. What do you guys think?

We've gotten a LOT of rain lately, and since my room is the basement...it flooded. Fortunately none of my games were damaged, but we had to move EVERYTHING out of my bedroom and rip up all of the carpet. So we're painting the room before we replace the floor since it's already empty anyway. I'll post new pictures once that little project is done probably next week.

Digging the endtable turned TV stand. I might have to steal that idea

I'm happy you noticed. :P
Really though, nice collection.

For posterity's sake and to give a comparison between what my room looks like now and what it looked like before it flooded (which is what these old pictures show), I'll keep the OP as a quote here before I update the pictures at the beginning of the thread.
ElkinFencer10 wrote:Alright, as promised, here's my set up. Sorry about the picture quality; I don't actually own a digital camera (I'm not a picture person), so I used my cell phone. Compared to most of the set ups I've seen posted here, mine's not very impressive, but I've acquired what I can with a $25 per week allowance (I'm avoiding getting a job until I absolutely have to have one next year) over the course of about 4 years. I have my games roughly ordered chronologically by system and alphabetically within the system.

Image
Here's the main focus of my bedroom set up. That's the 32 inch LCD HDTV in the center that I got for Christmas a couple of years ago. It only supports up to 1080i, but since the most any of my systems can produce is 480p, it's not an issue right now. lol On the right side beside the phone is a picture of my ex-girlfriend and me that I haven't been able to bring myself to take down yet. :(

Image
A close-up of the NES and Atari 2600 with the Question Block box in which my Club Nintendo platinum reward from 2010 came.

Image
A close-up of the Master System and Wii.

Image
This is the first bookshelf of games with my cancerous Genesis on top.

Image
A close-up of my Genesis with the 32x and CD Model 2. I know the Genesis 1 was made for the CD 1 and Genesis 2 for CD 2, and as a result (since I don't have that inch long piece of plastic to make it fit snug), my Genesis looks absurd, I prefer it this way for two reasons - I prefer the Genesis Model 1 for the melodramatic "16-BIT" in sliver letters, and I prefer the CD Model 2 because I hate and do not trust disk trays.

Image
Here's the bottom half of that first shelf with my Atari 2600 games and about 2/3 of my NES games.

Image
Here's the top half of that shelf with the rest of my NES games (the bottom row here is the top row in the previous picture, I think) and my Master System, Genesis, 32x, and Sega CD games along with the first few of my SNES games.

Image
Here's the rest of my systems - my Saturn (with television remotes beside it) on the bottom, my Dreamcast and Playstation 2 in the middle, and my Nintendo 64 and SNES on top (to allow room for my N64 Gameshark and my Super Game Boy). Whenever I get my next system (either a TurboGrafix-16, Atari Jaguar, or Xbox, probably), it will most likely go beside the Saturn.

Image
This is the bottom shelf of the bookcase where the fives aforementioned systems are with the rest of my SNES games and most of my N64 games.

Image
This is the top half of that second bookcase with the last few N64 games, my Saturn games, my Playstation games, my Dreamcast games, and most of my Gamecube games.

Image
Here's an endtable-turned-game shelf with my CRT TV (for my NES light gun games) and the last few Gamecube games and all but one of my Playstation 2 games. In the drawer are various instruction manuals for N64 games, strategy guides, Tricks 'n Tips codebooks, etc.

Image
This is the cubicle shelf to the left of that endtable with that last Playstation 2 game, my Wii games, my DS games, and my three 3DS games. In those small, plastic, red crates are my Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and Game Gear games. On the far right side in the charge cradle is my 3DS. The rest of the shelf just has various decorations and boxes. The purple rubber lizard's name is Gex.

Image
Here's the actual cubical part of that shelf (again, the Wii/DS/3DS games). The six drawers hold my controllers and accessories, all organized by generation. The first row has 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation controllers and accessories, and the bottom row has 5th, 6th, and 7th/8th generation controllers and accessories. Since the 3DS is my only 8th generation system (for obvious reasons given that I don't own a PS Vita), I just keep the AR cards in with the 7th generation stuff.

Image
When I'm home, I keep my laptop in the corner of my room on TV trays. If I'm playing a PC game, though, I usually move it in front of my TV, plug in the HDMI cable, and play Starcraft or Star Trek Online or whatever on my TV.

Image
I hijacked the bookcase right outside my bedroom where we keep our old VHS tapes to display various boxes and other neat little decorations.

Image
Last but not least, this is Jack, my faithful gaming buddy.

Like I said, not nearly as impressive as most of the collections I've seen on here, but I'm pretty proud of what I'm managed to collect.

Don't compare what you have to others. Many have shown time and time again that as long as the stuff you have has meaning to you, and it's all things you truly enjoy; that's what's important. You have good a setup, man. Like anything else, it just takes time.

Yes, you do need to dust.

Thanks. :D I've stopped comparing my stuff to others' as much, but the small size of my newer acquisitions (Saturn and Dreamcast, mainly) still makes me want to go take out a loan to go shopping, lol. And as you'll see, I dusted when we moved my furniture back in. The furniture is all really old and stained, though, so some of what looks like dust (pretty much everything that looks like dust in the new pictures) is actually just wear and stain.
