If you know how to solder, the schematic is easy to build. The parts list isn't that big either. You need half a dozen or so ICs, some various resistors, caps, etc, then all the input/output jacks. All that stuff is pretty cheap, actually. I never sourced the ICs needed, but I doubt they cost much at all. Then just get a project box and a project board that fits it, large enough for the build, and you'll have a nice little adapter box!
A buddy of mine was working on building his own box, if I can't find the link, I'll ask if I can have his schematic. I was interested in building one for myself, actually, I just never have the time for all the projects I wanna do.
Super Famicom Component Cable Mod Project
Re: Super Famicom Component Cable Mod Project
If you need it I'm sure there's modders who could accept a SNES component request.
The key problem here is lack of interest. Public opinion on SNES composite isn't bad enough for component mods to gain popularity.
It's not like Neo Geo or something where everyone, their cat, the cat's food bowl, and even the neighborhood pack of hound dogs, all view as having composite atrocious on every conceivable level.
