The gaming press played ball with him back when he was hyping Fable, and many people recall how it was supposedly going to put Shenmue to shame. Of course that never materialised. He used to receive too much credit. As for his earlier titles, Syndicate was great, and Populous was fantastic, but Magic Carpet felt more like a tech demo to me.. and The Movies never made sense to me anyhow. Nothing could replace specialised software to make those sorts of productions.
There was also crazy hype surrounding Dungeon Keeper, but even falling short of expectations that game was well-received. Never did appeal to me though, maybe someone else could tell us about it. Black & White was another note-worthy title from Molyneux and his team.

I really liked Dungeon Keeper, it was kind of like an RTS mixed with tower defense or something. It had some of the Overseer elements like populous where you were a Dungeon master and had to build traps and monsters and whatnot to stop the oncoming horde of heroes. It was pretty great IMO.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

I just want him to make a game like this. If that means using Kinect to achieve that, I'm all for it.

I liked this comment about Molyneux:
"Yes, he’s failed on more than one occasion, but that’s because he’s tried. In such a risk-averse industry, that’s rare. If you push you will fall, but he never stops. Going it alone again means he can experiment in ways a large corporation would never allow, that he can remain on the road of innovation.”

Not a bad quote, but I still wonder if he even knows what he's talking about nowadays, or understands that yes, there are still limitations.
