You will not find a more authentic game than Arm Joe.
Actually there is a group making a real game based on Les Miserables - http://www.lesmisgame.com/

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is based on this novel.flojocabron wrote:Since a good portion of our games come from Asia...
"Journey to the west" is a popular classic novel and there are countless games and tv series that have used this book as a jumping point.
Maybe thats the last source of orignal ideas for games?

It has plot changes from the original story but is still an excellent title.BoringSupreez wrote:I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream.

Good one! Yes, it's quite different from the original story (a must read, imo), but still a quite nice point and clicker.BoringSupreez wrote:I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream.

Yours truly is quite shocked at the lack of quality Oz games.
The Super NES game was horrible. AVGN said it all best.
There was a DS game, which I heard received mixed reviews and reimagined it into oblivion.
And while I've heard good things about Emerald City Confidential, I feel as though it departs from the original books with its '40s noir aesthetic too much.
I mean, as good as the books are, and as much gaming potential, why does it seem too difficult to make a decent Oz game?
An RPG is a given, albeit more a Zelda-esque adventure. Or maybe a fighting game? If Les Miz can work as a 2D fighter, then Oz would as well, preferably as a crossover with Wonderland.

Also Ganso Saiyuuki: Super Monkey Daibouken. an extremely high level kuso-ge. You can tell the programmer was really enjoying his job.Stark wrote:Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is based on this novel.flojocabron wrote:Since a good portion of our games come from Asia...
