You know what Rod and Tod say.
I havent smoked anything in five years. Not even a puff on a cigar.
I must be confusing you with someone I met at a con in Raleigh last year, whose name is Russ who was smoking outside of the convention center.

Nothing planned this year, but last year my family and I did a rice-and-beans only diet for two months. It was supposed to show us how the people in poor third-world countries suffered, but I don't think it worked - I mean, it was pretty bland, but I could have as much rice as I wanted.

It's a Catholic thing. You give up something you like for 40 days to build up bonus cookie points with God or some such crap. I'm not sure exactly (you can probably tell by my tone that I'm protestant).

I only ever did lent when I was little and my family was Catholic. My parents gave up meat for lent (ate fish instead), and I hated it. It seemed such an injustice that I had to get a fish sandwich at McDonald's instead of my usual hamburger or chicken nuggets.

I'm a Christian but not a Catholic. Pretty sure we did that thing not for lent but for empathy with the "starving people." The fact that I had unlimited rice-n-beans kind of defeated the purpose, too. Hmm.
