I've been sitting on a complete boxed copy of this for ages. I put about 4-5 hours in to it years ago but got distracted by other things... I really need to revisit it some day.

Probably not, widescreen monitors certainly weren't "in" at the time of its release. Can you not just choose a 4:3-type resolution and have it put bars on the side or something?
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.
No idea. Just got an awesome 4:3 LCD monitor though a week ago, so if it does come to that I'm prepared.
I know Longest Journey is out the question with widescreens, since it has 3D background/characters or something that can't be correctly fixed. It's that or playing it in like a 320x240 window... lmao.
I put this down awhile ago after getting stuck. I got stuck for kind of a stupid reason. I forgot that your character has a lockpicking skill and that you have to hold control to use it. I kept going up to doors and clicking on them and the door wouldn't open; I would just get a message saying "This seems interesting" and I didn't get that what it really meant was "time to lock pick!"
Anyway, now that I'm back in it, I LOVE THIS GAME! Has anyone else been playing it? I just finished reading the book Neuromancer, which is considered one of the launching points for the cyberpunk genre, so I was looking to play something with a cyberpunk vibe. Though Anachronox is more tongue-in-cheek and humorous than Neuromancer, it hit the spot for me perfectly. I love the crazy world of Anachronox where the world has gravity on all walls and plate tectonics that reorganize the place every 15 minutes, where you can travel around neon drenched city streets and trade information with seedy spies, where you can have an entire planet in your party, and where alien gangsters can be bribed with stinky socks to feed on. It's a strange place that feels unique, quirky, and alive.
