The Gamecube controller is truly a marvel of design. The only problem it has is the bad D-Pad which is truly dissapointing, specially compared to the quality of the other buttons.lisalover1 wrote:Represent.

It's just taste... i found it awfull for FPS and fighting games, like you say the D-Pad, and the Z button feels weird. I never have trouble with the thumbstick on the PS2 controller.General_Norris wrote:The Gamecube controller is truly a marvel of design. Pretty much any console after Sega Saturn that didn't have Sony in the name has a shitty D-Pad. Which sucks, D-Pads SHOULD be important!

I'm in the middle on the Gamecube controller. On the one hand, it's extremely comfortable, and the face buttons are perfect, but on the other the triggers suck and the c-stick isn't as useful as an actual analog stick. I give it a "Massively better than Wiimote/10"

If I could slap a Genesis or SNES d-pad onto the Gamecube controller, it would be perfect.General_Norris wrote:The Gamecube controller is truly a marvel of design. Anyway, I don't know, touchscreen gaming isn't really a big problem to me. Certain games on the DS showed that it doesn't have to just be a gimmick, and the DS proved how useful dual displays can be.
As long as there's still physical buttons on the thing (like the Wii U controller) I'm sure we'll end up seeing libraries that still mainly use traditional controls.
