Every month or so there's a thread about this, so yes, you're probably a creep, most certainly alone in this feeling.

Indeed. You're obviously a broken person and a menace to society. Please lie down on the floor face down with your hands behind your head. The authorities will be there shortly.

I'm just take comfort in knowing that I will never, ever, run out of games to play.

Actually, I've gotten over the collector's bug for the most part. I'm generally very satisfied with my gaming stuff (over 13 years in the making, 20 if you count my very early years when my purchases/gifts were very rare).
I think you just go through a manic craziness for a time, only to settle down at some point (or else risk drowning in an ever-expending sea of plastic).

I get this feeling every so often. I don't play a whole lot of my collection and its gotten pretty big. At how many games/systems do you say it is too much?

I've decided to trim my thrift store hunting down to almost none.

I agree with the others, if you don't have enough to pay for your responsibilities then I think the collecting ends.

The trick is how to store it.

It's a normal feeling to have when collecting. I felt the same way for a long time, and made a decision to sell 99% of my collection when I moved. I made a lot of money and...there is so much more room now in my apartment!

I'm not saying you should do the same. Some people enjoy collecting and that is totally A-OK with me.

If you are having trouble letting go of some things, reading this really helped me.

I think this sometimes, but at the end of the day I feel I would be sadder if I sold it all or most of it off.

What works for me is focus and having a large collection. I only collect what I really enjoy, but, at the same time I make sure I have enough games that it'd be a pain to sell them all off should that bug get me again.

Sounds just about like me. Even though I don't own any of today's modern consoles, doesn't mean I'll follow the games and the systems and the latest trends. I like to stay a generation or two behind, gaining information on what's out there now, and then when those consoles become replaced by newer ones, I'll have the information and good games in mind to make the best decisions on what to buy.

Case in point -- just finally acquired a Game Boy Advance SP -- made sure it was the AGS-101 with the brighter screen. Also can play my older GB games on it, bonus!

On top of whats been said another method that may help is a fresh start. If you feel your buying alot, theres things you want you get'em your still not happy...
Just take a pause ask yourself why are you getting all this stuff, you might realize you dont really need/want much of it at all which in turn may alieve some of your stress.

-Take a note of your collection see what really tickles your heart keep those, any others you second guess sell them rid them like a bad xgirlfriend.

-After you exile the excess junk (games/girlfriend),count your stacks ($),pay a bill or two,eat a decent meal...

-Then reminise of when you were a videogame junkie, but then take a look at your game shelf and realize theres the games that been there for you all the while and pick one up..blow into those contacts..and say to yourself I will destroy you

Before you know it,it'll all be in the past..
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.
