Awesome! I'm sort of the reverse of you. I wanted the Super Nintendo really bad, but ended up with a Genesis. While I do think the Super Nintendo is the better system, the Genesis is still awesome and really easy to collect (games are cheap!)

I would recommend checking out some of the Disney games (Castle of Illusion, World of Illusion) as well as Rocket Knight Adventures. Have fun!

You also might want to grab yourself a copy of Herzog Zwei if you like strategy at all. Its price has bounced around a lot, but lately seems to be in the $25-$50 range (just ignore the scattering of $100+ listings).

The Genesis is my favorite console along side the Saturn. There are so many awesome games on the system. If you like platformers be sure to get Dynamite Headdy and Rocket Knight Adventures.

It probably helped that I provided her with a list of games I wanted to play when she told me what my Christmas present was.... ;)

I'm having a blast with it and I'm already heading toward expanding my small Genesis library... Starflight... Beyond Oasis... /drool
I love me some Starflight 2 and Streets of Rage 2. You should also hit up the Shining Forces, Pirates! Gold, Shadowrun, Star Control, Buck Rogers :)

Coincidentally, I have a Shining Force 2 in my sales/trade thread lol wink wink

Welcome to the boards, a great place to discuss retro gaming

Gunstar Heroes is a great game if you havent already played it on Wii and other collections. I still remember blindly picking this game up once on the clearance section.
Curtsy when you walk by that Dreamcast
