Or you will need this plugged in where the Sega CD would go.

I can't think of the name of it but it came with the 32x and said that some units would need it plugged in, I will try to look in my manual this weekend.

Interesting. I bought a Model 1 once off of ebay and it came with one of those. I just assumed it was the normal expansion slot cover (even though I had never seen one like that before). But I tried playing my 32x on it without that thing and it worked fine.

Yea most of the time you don't need it. I don't have it in my model 2 either.

I've never heard of such a thing. Well you learn something new everyday.

I'd love a 32x to finish my collection of Sega hardware but they are so damned expensive.

I assume you're talking about a CIB one, because you can easily get a 32x for <$20

Edit: Woaah nevermind then. I never thought those things would go up in price like they have. I got mine for $20 bucks like 3 years ago.

Got mine for $10. :D Granted it didn't come with any cords, I already had an extra Genesis power cord I could use for it and I bought a connector cable for $7, so I still did pretty good on that. haha

Nice score on the connector cable. Those are hard to come by.
I did once make my own (individual, shielded wires; hooking it up was a pain in the @$$), but it was just a temporary solution until I found the actual part.
The 32X was actually really fun to collect for.

I have a Genesis unit devoted specifically for the 32X. One day I'm going to have to split the power cord to run from one plug (heard you can do that somewhere on these forums).
...just another lost soul...

To my knowledge the official 32x model 1 connector cable is an adapter. If you have a cable that links 32x directly to model 1, it should not be Sega design.

But anyone here care to really confirm this?
Lum fan.
