after watching a 80s movie called Legend i found some similarties from a video game called legend of zelda. The movie Legend a character that looks like Link carries a sword found a sword in cave. Trolls are trying to find a princess. Weather changes rapidly for some odd reason. There is particular ganon character that is play by Tim Curry. i kinda feel like japanese gamers love our american movies that they turn there stuff into awesome games especially from capcom, nintendo, konami. Metal gear series is inpired by escape from new york and terminator movies.

I do feel feel legend of zelda was really inspired by the movie Legend only because the movie was released first and the nes game came out a few months laters. samething goes for the metroid series. I just found out mr miyamoto was also into phantasy star, altered beast games for the sega genesis. I'm entitled to my opinion even if you don't agree to it. people want zelda movie and I tell them to watch The Legend, which is a pretty good movie to watch.

Things like Metroid taking inspiration from Alien and Metal Gear taking inspiration from Escape from New York are well documented. Zelda taking inspiration from a movie that came out barely two months before it came out, however? Highly unlikely. You know it takes a lot longer than two months to make a game right?

I wasn't sure what were the dates for these until looking them up.
Legend is a released on December 13, 1985 UK Director Ridley Scott. While the american version April 18, 1986. France got an early release August 28 1985. The name Ridley is mentioned in Metroid series.
The Legend of Zelda release FDS Japan February 21, 1986
NES NA August 22, 1987
Nintendo created a lot games in those years quickly. upon the whole Zelda series probably took interest in the film Legend. if you haven't seen the movie take a look at it.

Ridley Scott is referenced in Metroid because he directed Alien.

I just really don't buy this idea that Zelda was inspired by Legend, ESPECIALLY the idea that the first game was directly inspired by it.
