There is no mention of the lack of region protection - which is amazing since us American Pocket gamers missed out on a ton of awesome foreign titles. Also, some foreign games will play in English on NA consoles, just as the other SNK hardware did..

quoted form the comments section of article:
Should be noted - Neo Geo Pocket Color is region free, meaning you can definitely import Japanese and European games for NA systems, and vice-versa..

Also of note: some games will play in whatever language the system is configured for, regardless of where the cart originated. For example - I have a Japanese import of Neo Turf Masters (called 'Big Tournament Golf' in Japan,) and it plays in perfect English. I've heard that not all games have the different language sets within the cart, though.

[I also posted almost the same comment as this on the 101 article.]

The GP32 did have a similar click-stick, but it isn’t as nice as the NGPC’s. Maybe some GP32's (like maybe the BLU) didn't have the stick, but I thought they all had the same controls.

As far as emulation goes, Neopop is the most well-known. It was the first real open-source one, and thus got ported a lot. Before that, there was stuff like RAPE?, MHE, NeoPocott, and NGPocket.

Koyote was nice, but it wasn’t real well known.

There is also one called “RACE!” that’s open-source (http://koyote-land.cvs.sourceforge.net/ ... land/RACE/). It’s not quite as easily portable as Neopop, but it’s faster. The PSP version is quite nice, IMHO. http://psp.akop.org/race
RACE has been ported to other handhelds, too, so if you want to emulate on a handheld, look for it.

"Ton" might be stretching it a bit, and most of the great titles did get ported over. (I know, I know... Biomotor 2, Rockman, Cotton, et al.)

Well, I guess I'm not much of a public conversationalist. :D

But you're on the Internet -- that makes you both public and conversational?
