i coundnt find the best place to put this, but on youtube for really good information on retro games and the history of, watch any videos by Playvalue. it isnt really a review but it is a retro gaming information provider on youtube.

Playvalue is the most informative video game show on the internet. I've learned alot from them, including learning to hate Universal studios.

PlayValue is inaccurate (if you care about real history). Don't watch them unless its for entertainment purposes.

indeed i found it funny for the 1st few episode... then it just became a nonsense to hear cussing every other word, just to explain why the jump mech is broken.
I stay away from ScrewAttack's videos for the same reason. It's just plain annoying.

What's inaccurate about Playvalue? They seem pretty accurate to me.

I really like Roo from ClanoftheGrayWolf's 16-bit gem videos. They are generally really well thought out/intelligently presented and informative.

Not a review site, but if you ever wanted to see retro ports of arcade games for each console/computer from the 80s, check out
GamingHistorySource
He run a series called "Let's Compare" and its really awesome to see some of those old computer ports.

one of may favorites but commonly known is Classic Game Room. they have reviews on everything. they love retro, but give modern reviews too. they constantly post new reviews. they are professional, no digital camera in the bedroom style reviews. they are humorous, and they decency to bleep out their little cursing in their reviews. they even had a legit game show online at one time.
another person i like for retro gaming is patthenespunk. he isnt so good for reviews, but in Flea Market Madness he shows of the great flea market experience.

I like Classic Game Room, Happy Console Gamer and Lukemorse1. That's all I really watch somewhat regularly. There are others, of course, but these are the main three for me.

I've watched that show before and have seen clear false information given. That is "legit."
