Graphical Stuttering, what causes it?

lol. Well, it wasn't the source of the graphic stuttering. That was all in the power settings. Uninstallining McAffee should have been one of the first things I did though. I don't know why anyone would want an antivirus that creates worse problems than most viruses. :p

It was really upsetting to finally own a computer with enough power to run high end games at high settings only to realize that it would stutter regardless of the in-game video settings. Thanks to those here and elsewhere that helped me sort that out.

Would it be overkill to suggest you create a partition just of offline gaming?

(No AV, no protection, just display-audio-input drivers and optimization programs... you just need to reboot into it.)

Actually it wouldn't surprise me if it was a combination of the two. You'd start up a game which would warm up the system since it was being worked and Mcafee would freak out because all of the activity in memory and drive access to pull game data which would cause it to work harder too.
